SINOPSIS
En el patio de un barrio popular de Bamako, han instalado un tribunal. Representantes de la sociedad civil africana entablan un proceso contra las instituciones financieras internacionales: el banco mundial y el FMI, a los que consideran responsables de la dramática situación de África. Este auténtico proceso pone en escena a juristas profesionales, representantes de la sociedad civil y actores. Entre los habitantes que viven en este patio y que se dedican a lo suyo está Melé, cantante en un bar y su marido, Chaka, sin trabajo.
SYNOPSIS
In the open courtyard of a working-class district of Bamako, a court has been set up. Representatives of African civil society are taking the international financial institutions, the World Bank and the IMF, to court, holding them responsible for the dramatic situation in Africa. This real trial involves professional lawyers, civil society representatives and actors. Among the inhabitants who live in this courtyard and go about their business are Mélé, a singer in a bar, and her unemployed husband Chaka.
SYNOPSIS
Dans la cour ouverte d’un quartier populaire de Bamako, un tribunal a été installé. Des représentants de la société civile africaine intentent un procès aux institutions financières internationales, la banque mondiale et le FMI, qu’ils tiennent pour responsables de la situation dramatique de l’Afrique. Ce véritable procès met en scène des juristes professionnels, des représentants de la société civile et des comédiens. Parmi les habitants qui vivent dans cette cour et vaquent à leurs occupations, se trouvent Mélé, chanteuse dans un bar et son mari Chaka, sans travail.
