SINOPSIS  

En la cultura islámica, Barzaj representa el mundo intermediario, un estado entre la vida y la muerte física. Un espacio situado entre el infierno y el paraíso. Un verdadero no-lugar. Aquel que entra en Barzakh espera su juicio, pero no sabe cuándo y adónde le tocará irse. La película reproduce este mundo fantasmagórico protegido por la noche. Es la historia de supervivencia de un grupo de niños atrapados entre dos mundos; Marruecos, el infierno del que creen huir y Europa, el paraíso que esperan encontrar. Lo difícil es la permanencia. El día a día. El miedo. Despertar en la noche para empezar una jornada desde un escondite aislado. Observar en silencio la vida que anhelas. 

SYNOPSIS  

In Islamic culture, Barzakh represents the intermediate world, a state between life and physical death. A space located between hell and paradise. A real non-place. Whoever enters Barzakh, is waiting to be judged, but doesn’t know when or where he will be going. The film reproduces this phantasmagorical world sheltered by night, placing in its heart a group of children trapped between two worlds: Morocco, the hell they think they are running away from and Europe, the paradise they’re hoping to reach. The hard part is the interval. The day-to-day. The fear. Waking up in the middle of the night to welcome a new day from your hideout. Silently watching the life they desire. 

SYNOPSIS  

Dans la culture musulmane, Barzakh représente un monde intermédiaire, un état entre la vie et la mort physique. Un espace situé entre l’enfer et le paradis. Un réel non-lieu. Celui qui entre dans le Barzakh sera jugé, mais il ne sait ni quand ni où il devra aller. Le film reproduit ce monde fantasmagorique, protégé par la nuit ; l’histoire de la survie d’un groupe d’enfants attrapés entre deux mondes : le Maroc, l’enfer qu’ils veulent fuir, et l’Europe, le paradis qu’ils espèrent trouver. Le plus difficile, c’est l’entre-deux. Le quotidien. La peur. Se réveiller la nuit pour commencer une journée dans une cachette isolée. Observer en silence la vie dont ils rêvent.
