SINOPSIS
ESPAÑOL
Durante los años 30 en Egipto, los hermanos Frenkel (Herschel, Salomon y David), de origen judío, empezaron a hacer sus primeras películas de animación, utilizando casi siempre el mismo protagonista, Mish Mish Efendi. También realizan anuncios. Muy influenciados por los dibujos animados llegados de Estados Unidos, los hermanos crean un estilo híbrido con un toque oriental para satisfacer los gustos del público local. Abu ras nahta (Cabeza de chorlito) es el último corto que hacen en Egipto antes de trasladarse a Francia.

Dans les années 30 en Egypte, les frères Frenkel (Herschel, Salomon et David), d’origine juive, commencent à réaliser leurs premiers films animés, utilisant pratiquement systématiquement comme personnage le protagoniste de leurs courts-métrages, Mish Mish Efendi. Ils font aussi des films publicitaires. Très influencés par les cartoons arrivés des Etats-Unis, les Frenkel créent un style hybride, ajoutant à leurs films une touche orientale pour satisfaire le goût du public local. Abu ras nahfa (Tête Dure) est le dernier film qu’ils réalisent en Egypte en 1950 avant de s’installer en France.

During the 30s in Egypt, the Jewish Frenkel brothers (Herschel, Salomon y David), started filming their first animation films, always starring the same man, Mish Mish Efendi. They also shot publicity spots. Influenced by the cartoons from the States, the brothers created their own hybrid style to satisfy their audience. Abu ras nahta (Hardheaded) is the last short they filmed before moving to France.
