Este documental describe la vida de Frantz Fanon, un psiquiatra nacido en Martinica, que se convirtió en uno de los símbolos de la lucha anticolonial. En 1952 escribió Piel negra, máscaras blancas, donde demuestra que las víctimas del racismo acaban por interiorizarlo. En los años 50, destinado a un hospital en Argelia, ayudó a los rebeldes, por lo que fue expulsado del país. Se trasladó a Túnez, donde escribió para el periódico de la oposición, El Moudjahid. Fundó una de las primeras clínicas psiquiátricas del continente africano y escribió varios libros sobre la descolonización. Falleció de leucemia en Washington a la edad de 36 años.

Ce film décrit la vie de Frantz Fanon, un psychiatre originaire de Martinique, qui devint une figure de la lutte anticoloniale. En 1952, Frantz Fanon écrit Peau noire, masques blancs, qui montre comment le racisme finit par être intériorisé par ses victimes. Dans les années 1950, il aide les rebelles dans la guerre en Algérie. Expulsé du pays en 1956, il s’installe à Tunis où il écrit pour le journal d’opposition El Moudjahid, il fonde une des premières cliniques psychiatriques d’Afrique et écrit divers livres sur la décolonisation. Il meurt près de Washington à l’âge de 36 ans.

This movie depicts Frantz Fanon’s life. A psychiatrist from Martinique, he became a spokesman for the anti-colonialist struggle. In 1952, Frantz Fanon wrote Black Skin, White Masks, an analysis of racism and the ways in which its victims internalize it. In the 50s, he aided the rebels of the Algerian anti-colonial war. Expelled from Algeria in 1956, he moved to Tunis where he wrote for the rebel newspaper El Moudjahid, founded one of Africa’s first psychiatric clinics and wrote several books on decolonization. He died from leukemia in Washington DC at the age of 36.
