SINOPSIS

Los harragas son los inmigrantes clandestinos que huyen de su país para escapar de la miseria. La historia transcurre a Mostaganem, en la costa argelina. El barquero Hassan prepara a escondidas la salida de un grupo de inmigrantes hacia España. Son diez clandestinos que apenas se llevan nada, una muda, un portátil y algo de dinero. Harragas cuenta la odisea de ese grupo que sueña con España, a menos de 200 km de la costa argelina, la puerta abierta al Eldorado europeo.

Les harragas ou brûleurs sont les clandestins qui fuient leur pays pour échapper à la misère. L’histoire se passe à Mostaganem, sur les côtes algériennes. Hassan, un passeur, prépare en secret le départ illégal d’un groupe d’immigrants vers les côtes espagnoles. Dix « brûleurs » participent au voyage n’emmenant presque rien, une tenue de rechange, un portable et à peine un peu d’argent. Harragas raconte l’odyssée de ce groupe rêvant à l’Espagne, à 200 km à peine de leurs côtes et porte ouverte sur l’Eldorado européen.

“Harragas” are clandestine immigrants that flee their country to escape from poverty. The story takes place in Mostaganem, on the Algerian coast. The boatman, Hassan, prepares the secret crossing of a group of immigrants to Spain. Ten illegal immigrants that barely take anything with them: A change of clothes, a cell phone and a bit of money. Harragas tells the odyssey of this group of people who dream of Spain, barely 125 miles from the Algerian coast and the door that opens onto the European Eldorado.
