SINOPSIS

ESPAÑOL

Koundi es un pueblo de 1.200 habitantes al este de Camerún. Conscientes de la riqueza forestal que les rodea, a los habitantes se les ocurre utilizarla para luchar contra la pobreza. Deciden organizarse en grupos de interés comunitario para crear un cacaotal de varias hectáreas de extensión con el fin de alcanzar la autonomía. Asimismo, instituyen un “jueves nacional”: dedican un día de cada mes para crear el cacaotal. La vida de un pueblo a través del prisma de la autogestión.

Koundi est un grand village de 1200 habitants dans l’est du Cameroun. Conscients de leur richesse forestière, les villageois ont l’idée de l’utiliser pour lutter contre la pauvreté. C’est pourquoi ils s’organisent en groupement d’intérêt communautaire et entreprennent de créer une cacaoyère de plusieurs hectares afin d’assurer leur autonomie. Ils instituent ainsi un « jeudi national » : un jour par mois, ils travaillent à la création d’une cacaoyère. La vie au village vue sous le prisme de l’autogestion.

ENGLISH

Koundi is a large village with around 1,200 inhabitants, located in Cameroon’s East Province. Aware of Koundi’s richness in timber, the villagers decide to use it to alleviate poverty. They organise a union, the Organisation for Communal Interests, and create a cocoa plantation over several hectares to be able to depend on themselves. They also institute «National Thursday»: Once a month, they all work on the development of the cocoa plantation. Village life through the prism of self-management.
