SINOPSIS

En este cálido retrato de la ciudad portuaria francesa que da nombre a la película, el destino hace que un joven refugiado africano llamado Idrissa se cruce en el camino de Marcel Marx, un bohemio culto que se gana la vida como limpiabotas. Con un optimismo innato y el apoyo incondicional de sus vecinos, Marcel se enfrenta a la policía empeñada en deportar al niño. Un cuento de hadas político a medio camino entre la realidad de la Francia contemporánea y el cine clásico de Jean-Pierre Melville y Marcel Carné.

In this warmhearted portrait of the French harbor city that gives the film its name, fate throws young African refugee Idrissa into the path of Marcel Marx, a well-spoken bohemian who works as a shoeshine. With innate optimism and the unwavering support of his community, Marcel stands up to officials doggedly pursuing the boy for deportation. A political fairy tale that exists somewhere between the reality of contemporary France and the classic cinema of Jean-Pierre Melville and Marcel Carné.
