SINOPSIS

ESPAÑOL

Un pueblo de isla Mauricio. Bissoon es un campesino jubilado que tiene un problema. Esta mañana, por primera vez en 20 años, se ha fundido el fusible de su vieja radio. En la tienda del pueblo, Ah-Yan se queda sorprendido ante el anticuado aparato. Ya no se fabrican esos fusibles, pero Ah-Yan intenta convencerle para que compre una radio “made in China”. Ante las dudas del anciano, Ah-Yan decide explicarle los beneficios de la globalización.

Un village sur l’Île Maurice. Bissoon, laboureur à la retraite, a un problème : ce matin, pour la première fois depuis 20 ans, le fusible de son vieux poste de radio vient de sauter. Dans sa boutique à l’entrée du village, Ah-Yan l’accueille avec étonnement en découvrant ce vieux poste de radio. Le type de fusible nécessaire à son fonctionnement n’existe plus mais Ah-Yan lui propose d’acheter un autre poste fabriqué en Chine. Devant la mine dubitative du vieil homme, Ah-Yan entreprend de lui expliquer les bienfaits de la mondialisation.

A village on the Island of Mauritius. Bissoon, a retired peasant, has a problem. This morning, for the first time in twenty years, the fuse to his old radio has blown. In the village shop, Ah-Yan is taken aback by the ancient device. Fuses such as these are no longer made, so Ah-Yan tries to convince Bissoon to buy a radio “made in China”. When the elderly man hesitates, unsure, Ah-Yan decides to explain the benefits of globalization.
