Creada en los años noventa, después de una serie de saqueos en la ciudad de Kinshasa, el Mercado Kuwait es donde encontramos a gente vendiendo y comprando cualquier tipo de aparato electrónico usado y, además, son capaces de reparar casi cualquier cosa. Situada a lo largo de una avenida, este es el sitio para comprar, más barato imposible, un móvil de segunda mano y presenciar el crisol de la vida diaria en Kinshasa: cómo los desempleados se reinventan a sí mismos, buscándose la vida; música para ahogar los problemas diarios que no desaparecen nunca; la búsqueda de una vida sin horizonte…

Founded in the nineties, right after a series of lootings took place in Kinshasa, the Kuwait Market is a place where one can find people selling all sorts of old electronic devices, and repairing just about anything. Located along the length of an avenue, this is the place to acquire, at the cheapest possible price, a used cell phone and witness the melting pot of everyday Kinshasa: how the unemployed reinvent themselves; music to drown out the same problems that come rushing back every day; the pursuit of a life that has no horizon…
