La voz en off de un exiliado guineano anónimo, que heredó un río a la muerte de su padre, recuerda, desde la lejanía del destierro, episodios de la infancia, leyendas populares y viejas creencias africanas, introduciéndonos en el convulso pasado de Guinea Ecuatorial. Este documental aborda la colonización española en ese país africano y la herencia política, religiosa y cultural que aflora tras la independencia, desde los tiempos sangrientos de la dictadura de Francisco Macías hasta el actual régimen de Teodoro Obiang Nguema, sustentado por la riqueza petrolífera del país.

La voix off d’un guinéen anonyme en exil, qui a hérité d’un fleuve à la mort de son père, retrace dans le lointain de l’exil des épisodes d’enfance, des légendes populaires et vieilles croyances africaines, et nous introduit dans le passé mouvementé de Guinée Equatoriale. Ce documentaire aborde la colonisation espagnole dans ce pays africain et l’héritage politique, religieux et culturel qui affleure après l’indépendance, depuis la dictature de Francisco Macías jusqu’à l’actuel régime de Teodoro Obiang Nguema, soutenu par la richesse pétrolière du pays.

The voice-over of an anonym Guinean in exile, who inherited a river on his father’s death, remembering, from the distance of exile, episodes of his childhood, popular legends and old African beliefs, introducing us to the troubled past of Equatorial Guinea. This documentary brings out the subject of Spanish colonisation in the African country and the politic, religious and cultural heritage that came to the surface after the independence, starting with the dictatorship of Francisco Macías to the actual regime of Teodoro Obiang Nguema, sustained by the country’s wealth from the oil wells.
