SINOPSIS
En agosto de 2012, trabajadores de una de las minas más grandes de Sudáfrica comienzan una huelga para mejorar sus salarios. Tras seis días de huelga, la represión policial de la movilización pacífica de los mineros provoca numerosos heridos y 34 muertos. La policía pretende que ha sido en autodefensa. El documental cuenta una historia que se desarrolla en tiempo real durante siete días, mezclando el punto de vista central de tres líderes huelguistas, Mambush, Tholakele y Mzoxolo, con imágenes policiales, archivos de televisión y entrevistas con abogados que representan a los mineros en la comisión de investigación de la masacre.
SYNOPSIS
In August 2012, mineworkers in one of South Africa’s biggest mines began a wildcat strike for better wages. Six days into the strike, the police used live ammunition to brutally suppress it, killing 38 miners and injuring many more. The police insisted that they shot in self-defense. The film tells a story that unfolds in real time over seven days, weaving together the central point of view of three strike leaders, Mambush, Tholakele and Mzoxolo, with police footage, TV archive and interviews with lawyers representing the miners in the ensuing commission of inquiry into the massacre.

En août 2012, des travailleurs de l’une des plus grandes mines d’Afrique du Sud commencent une grève pour des salaires plus élevés. Après six jours de grève, la répression policière sur les manifestants pacifiques provoque 34 morts et de nombreux blessés. La police prétend qu’elle agit en légitime défense. Le documentaire narre une histoire qui se déroule en temps réel durant sept jours, mêlant le point de vue central de trois des leaders grévistes, Mambush, Tholakele et Mzoxolo, avec des images policières, des archives de télévision et des interviews d’avocats représentants les mineurs à la commission d’investigation du massacre.
