SINOPSIS

ESPAÑOL

Una familia mestiza se sienta alrededor de la mesa para comer. Está compuesta por la abuela, de origen criollo; el abuelo, de origen tamil; la hija de ambos; su marido, de origen chino, y la nieta, de 10 años. También está el hijo de los abuelos; su esposa, de origen musulmán, y su hijo, de 7 años. El niño aparece pintado de rojo, despertando estereotipos sociales y dando pie a una charla sobre la convivencia en esta familia, aparentemente muy orgullosa de su mestizaje.

Une famille très métissée est réunie pour un repas. Autour de la table, sont assis la grand-mère, d’origine créole, le grand-père, d’origine tamoule, la fille de ces deux derniers, son mari d’origine chinoise et leur fille de 10 ans. Se trouvent là également le fils du vieux couple et sa femme, d’origine musulmane, ainsi que leur fils de 7 ans. Quand ce dernier apparaît peint en rouge, il fait ressurgir les stéréotypes sociaux et occasionne des discussions sur le vivre-ensemble au sein de cette famille, en apparence très fière de son métissage.

ENGLISH

A family of mixed heritage sits down to eat. There is the grandmother of Creole origin, the grandfather of Tamil origin, their daughter, her husband of Chinese origin and their granddaughter, who is ten years old. Also present are the son of the elderly couple, his wife of Muslim origin and their son of seven years. The boy turns up all painted in red, stirring up social stereotypes that lead to a conversation concerning the coexistence of this family, ostensibly so proud of their mixed heritage.
