SINOPSIS

Nairobi, Kenia. Abila, un chico de 14 años, vive con sus padres en Kibera, uno de los barrios de chabolas más grandes de África Oriental. Una mañana, ve que su padre está enfermo, delira. “Alguien me ha robado el alma”, consigue articular el padre. Abila no entiende nada, pero quiere ayudar a su padre y decide buscar la cura adecuada. Con el apoyo de su novia Shiku, se embarca en una aventura que le llevará al corazón del microcosmos en el que vive. Esta película ha sido realizada por un taller de jóvenes entusiastas de Nairobi, guiados por el realizador alemán Tom Tykwer.

Nairobi, Kenya. Abila, un garçon âgé de 14 ans, vit avec ses parents à Kibera, l’un des bidonvilles les plus grands d’Afrique de l’est. Un matin, l’adolescent découvre son père malade et délirant. « Quelqu’un lui a volé son âme », soupire son père. Abila est choqué et perdu mais il veut aider son père et se met en quête du médicament adéquat. Aidé par sa petite amie, Shiku, il se lance dans une aventure qui le mène au plus profond du microcosme de sa ville natale. Le film est issu d’un atelier avec de jeunes passionnés de cinéma de Nairobi, emmené par le réalisateur allemand Tom Tykwer.

Nairobi, Kenya. 14 year-old Abila lives with his parents in Kibera, one of the largest slums in East Africa. One morning the teenager discovers his father ill and delirious. Someone has stolen his soul, mumbles the father. Abila is shocked and confused but wants to help his father and goes in search of the right remedy. Supported by his girlfriend Shiku, he embarks on an adventurous journey that leads him right to the heart of the microcosm that is his hometown. The film originated in a workshop for young film enthusiasts from Nairobi, guided by German director Tom Tykwer.
