SINOPSIS

ESPAÑOL:

El retrato de una mujer sudafricana embarazada de su segundo hijo. Durante toda la película, su rostro deja adivinar el temor de perderlo como ocurrió con el primero, muerto de sida. Desde la esperanza desesperada, a los sollozos liberadores, sus emociones se parecen al paisaje donde transcurre la película, evolucionando con las estaciones; una metáfora del destino de un continente que pasa por un cambio profundo.

ENGLISH:

A portrait of a pregnant South African woman expecting her second child. Throughout the entire film, her face betrays her fear of the baby succumbing to AIDS like her first-born. From frantic hope to redemptive tears, her emotions are similar to the landscape featured in the film, evolving with the seasons – a metaphor of the destiny of a continent undergoing a profound change.

FRANÇAIS:

Thato est le portrait d’une femme qui attend son deuxième enfant en Afrique du Sud. Sa peur de le voir mourir du sida comme son premier-né se dessine sur son visage à travers toute la durée du film. De l’espoir douloureux aux pleurs rédempteurs, ses émotions sont à l’image du paysage qui évolue au fil des saisons – métaphore du destin d’un continent en pleine mutation.
