El espejismo del cine es un poderoso imán para los habitantes de Ouarzazate. Muchos son los que sueñan con hacerse ricos gracias a la industria cinematográfica, que no es más que un señuelo. Siguen cobrando poco, apenas lo suficiente para sobrevivir, incluso cuando consiguen papeles de cierta importancia en películas de gran presupuesto. El documental sigue los pasos de un joven que trabajó con Brad Pitt en Babel. Incluso así, hoy vive modestamente en los montes cercanos a Ouarzazate.

Le mirage du cinéma exerce un puissant pouvoir sur les habitants de Ouarzazate. Beaucoup d’entre eux rêvent de devenir riches grâce à cette industrie… qui n’est finalement qu’un miroir aux alouettes. Leur salaire reste maigre et leur permet tout juste de survivre, même lorsqu’ils parviennent à décrocher des rôles importants dans des films à gros budget. Le documentaire suit ainsi un jeune homme qui joua aux côtés de Brad Pitt dans le film Babel. Malgré ce statut, il vit aujourd’hui modestement dans les montagnes proches de Ouarzazate.

Movie business is a powerful magnet for the inhabitants of Ouarzazate. Many are those who dream of making it and getting rich thanks to the film industry, but it is just a decoy. Their salaries are still meager, and they make just enough to survive, even when they get real roles in major budget productions. The documentary follows in the footsteps of a young man who worked with Brad Pitt on Babel. Even so, he still lives modestly in the hills near Ouarzazate.
