Este documental indaga en los arcanos del turismo en Gambia, mostrando sus puntos positivos y negativos. La industria turística es una fuente esencial de ingresos para este país situado en el oeste de África, pero tiene numerosos puntos en contra, como la mendicidad, el turismo sexual, la obtención de medios para emigrar… Un comercio pernicioso del que solo se aprovechan unos cuantos y que crea un turismo de la pobreza.

Ce documentaire plonge dans les arcanes du tourisme en Gambie, montrant à la fois ses bienfaits et ses méfaits. Cette industrie est en effet une source essentielle de revenue dans ce pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest, mais ses travers sont nombreux : tendance à la mendicité, tourisme sexuel, recherche de moyens de migration… Un commerce pernicieux qui ne profite qu’à quelques-uns et dont le paroxysme est le tourisme de la pauvreté.

This documentary investigates the secrets of tourism in Gambia, showing both its positive and its negative points. The tourism industry is an essential source of income for this country situated to the West of Africa, but it has several things against it: Begging, sexual tourism, finding the means to emigrate… A poisonous business that only benefits a few and that leads to poverty tourism.
