SINOPSIS

ESPAÑOL

Al fallecer su padre, Amy, una joven mestiza afincada en los alrededores de París, regresa a Bobo, en Burkina Faso, para buscar a su madre, de la que la separaron a los 8 años. Solo encuentra a su tía, rodeada de una corte familiar tan reconfortante como sofocante. Va y viene en una ciudad que desconoce. Muy lejos, Mariam, una mujer de Burkina de 45 años, limpia oficinas y vive en París con la esperanza de encontrar a su hija. Conoce a Esther, una ejecutiva de la empresa donde limpia. Las dos mujeres solitarias empiezan a apreciarse.

Suite au décès de son père, Amy, une jeune métisse vivant en région parisienne, revient à Bobo au Burkina Faso, pour chercher sa mère dont elle a été séparée à l’âge de 8 ans. Elle ne retrouve que sa tante. Amy entourée d’une cour familiale aussi rassurante qu’étouffante, va et vient dans une ville où elle n’a pas de repères. Loin de là, Mariam, une Burkinabè de 45 ans, est technicienne de surface et vit à Paris dans l’espoir de retrouver sa fille. Depuis peu, elle a rencontré Esther, cadre dans l’entreprise où elle fait le ménage. Ces deux femmes solitaires apprennent à s’apprécier.

ENGLISH

After the death of her father, Amy, a young mixed-raced woman leaves Paris to go to Bobo in Burkina Faso to find her mother from whom she was separated when she was eight. But only her aunt lives in her childhood home. Amy goes from one family foyer to another; although comforting, it is also stifling. Moreover, she encounters a city in which she no longer has a point of reference. Far from there, Mariam, a 45-year-old Burkinabe, is an office cleaner and lives in Paris trying to find her daughter. She recently met Ester, the manager of the company where she works. Gradually these two lonely women grow to appreciate each other.
